C. Convers Goddard spent summers at Upper St. Regis. He served as commodore of the St. Regis Yacht Club, as president of the St. Regis Property Owners Association, director of the St. Regis Foundation, and as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Paul Smith's College.
He was graduated from Phillips Academy and Yale College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. From 1946 until 1986, he worked for Chubb & Son insurance companies in San Francisco, Montreal, New York City, Rio de Janiero, London, and Short Hills, New Jersey.
