SARANAC LAKE —Charles J. Gehrig died Tuesday at his residence at 12 Main St. He had been a resident for five years.
He was born in New York City on April 22, 1902, the son of Karl and Minnie Ditter Gehrig.
He was an army veteran of World War I and II. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Metzger, a son Charles H. of Peekskill, two daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Dorothy) Pellegrini of Cal. and Mrs. William (Beverly) Pope of Saranac Lake; a sister, Mrs. Anna Metz of the Bronx, and four grandchildren. He reposed at Keough and Sons Memorial Chapels Wednesday evening. Funeral Services were held Thursday morning at the funeral home at 16 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Driscoll officiating. Interment followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
