Frederick Jerry Parsons grew up in Bloomingdale, a son of Perry Parsons. He was a speed skater in his early years. In 1953, he was a member of the Winter Carnival Court.
He moved to Seattle Washington in the early 1960s.

LOCAL SKATERS ARE COMPETING IN SPA MEET
Point winners in their first meet at Glens Falls two weeks ago but rained out in the Newburgh Middle Atlantic championships last weekend, the Saranac Lakes speed skating representatives are competing today and tomorrow in the Saratoga Springs outdoor title events.
The local speedsters tallied total of 420 points to take the Glens Falls meet with Charlotte Chase, Elaine Smith, Joyce Durgan, George Wilson, Linus Fobare and Fred Parsons pacing the local club.
In addition to the above competitors, other local speed skaters making the trip to Saratoga Springs are Tommy Fina, Dick Walton, Jimmy La Fountain and Mose La Fountain, Jr.
