George Lyeth, Jr., of Lake Clear Junction, R.F.D. No. 1, was a World War I Veteran of the U.S. Army. A private in Company C, 3rd Battalion, 20th Engineers, he died of septicaemia. His name is inscribed on the "Roll of Honor of Citizens of the State of New York who died while in the service of the United States during the World War, Albany (1922)."

George Lyeth, Jr., 18 years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Lyeth, of Lake Clear, has passed away at a base hospital in France, following a mastoid operation. He was a popular, patriotic young man who enlisted in the Forestry Division last October. For several seasons he was employed in the store of Matt Otis at Lake Clear.
