Harry Hoffer, 79, Dies Early Today in SLGH
Harry Hoffer passed away at 5:45 a.m. today at the Saranac Lake General Hospital, where be had been a patient for one day.
The body is reposing at the Fortune Funeral Home where there will be a service on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lionel Driscoll, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the TB Society and the Scholarship Fund.
Mr. Hoffer was born on September 22, 1878 in New York City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoffer. He married the former Edith Voetsch in New York City in September, 1906. Mr. Hoffer had been a newsdealer in the N.Y. Central Station in Saranac Lake from 1920 to 1948 when he retired.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Arthur, of Saranac Lake, three daughters, Mrs. Edith Flagg and Mrs. Louis Pelkey, also of this village, Mrs. Edith Holmes of West Hartford, Conn., and four grandchildren.
