Joseph T. Taylor was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Richard and Rose (Boyle) Taylor.

SARANAC LAKE - Joseph T. Taylor, 75, of St. Regis Falls Street [sic -- St. Regis Avenue], Bloomingdale, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born on Aug. 14, 1925, in Ogdensburg, he was the son of Richard and Rose (Boyle) Taylor.

He married Theresa Morford on Oct. 22, 1949, at St., Mary's Chapel in Ogdensburg by the Rev. Floyd Brown.

Mr. Taylor was a resident of Bloomingdale since 1953 coming from Ogdensburg in 1943. He attended and graduated from St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater as a Hospital Apprentice First Class. He was employed by the state of New York for 37 years as a nurse working at the St. Lawrence Hospital from 1965 to 1971 and the Clinton Correctional Facility from 1976 until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Bloomingdale; six sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sandie of Pittsfield, Mass., Thomas and Laurie of Malone, Richard and Debbie, of Bloomingdale; Patrick W. and Julia of Oceanside, Calif., Christopher and Cathy of Mystic, Conn., and Timothy and Melinda of Golden Colsiado, [sic] Calif.; two, daughters and son-in-law, Ann Marie and Gar Munn of Bloomingdale and Rosemary Taylor and her fiance Matt Warner of Saranac Lake; three brothers, James of Floral Park, Michael of Ogdensburg and John of Canandaigua; three sisters, Sr. Mary Christine Taylor of Massena, Sr. Roseann Taylor of Ogdensburg and Ann LeBel of Ogdensburg; 25 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Taylor was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and William Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor and Betty Taylor, and one brother-in-law Conrad LeBel.

Calling hours will be at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. A Bible vigil will be held on Friday afternoon. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale in May.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's Church, Right to Life, or High Peaks Hospice in care of the funeral home.
