Nathan V. Pratt was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Arthur L. and Lillian (Duprey) Pratt.

SARANAC LAKE — Nathan V. Pratt, 70, of 26 River St., died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1994 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born Aug. 4, 1924 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Arthur L. and Lillian (Duprey) Pratt.

On March 27, 1951 he married Helen Bowen at St. Bernard's Church. The Rev. Peter A. Ward officiated.

He graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Navy in 1944 as a pharmacist mate 1st class. He also graduated from the X-Ray Guild on Franklin Avenue in Saranac Lake in 1956. He worked for the state of New York for many years, retiring in 1986. However, he continued to work part-time at the bobrun on Mt. VanHoevenberg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Darlene Ryan, Heather Pratt and Angie Pratt, all of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Linda Ambrosi of Middletown, Mrs. Nan E. Jessey of Saranac, and Mrs. Maureen McDowell of Upper Franklin Falls; two sons, Nathan V. Pratt Jr. of Sumner, Wash, and Darin D. Pratt of Saranac Lake; a brother, Russell "Bugs" Pratt of Saranac Lake; three sisters, Patricia Beaulieu of Massena and Lillian Lang and Violet Doty, both of Chittenango; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil will be held at 8. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church with the Rev. John Silver officiating. Burial will follow in St Bernard's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad.
