During World War II, the Saranac Lake Lions Club produced and mailed a digest of local news, called the Lion's Roar, for servicemen away from home. Originals or copies of several numbers can be found in the Adirondack Collection of the Saranac Lake Free Library. Historic Saranac Lake also has copies.
