Thomas P. Meehan, a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, died unexpectedly at 5:15 this morning at his home, 7 1/2 William St.
Mr. Meehan was born March 17, 1910 in Saranac Lake, a son of John and Helen McDonald Meehan. He retired on Nov. 23, 1965 from the New York State Armory here after 26 years service. He was a World War II veteran and a member of American-Legion Post 447 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors are his wife, the former Ruth Bancker; a son, Thomas, Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen LaMay and Mrs. Marie Gillespie of Saranac Lake; two sisters. Mary and Lillian Meehan of Saranac Lake; a brother, Donald of Rochester; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home beginning: Thursday afternoon.
The Rosary will be said at 9:30 p.m. Friday and a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Church Burial will be in May in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
