The Center for Applied Mathematics at Cornell University is a graduate field which involves using mathematics to solve problems in biology, physics, engineering, psychology, and basically any other scientific discipline. Graduate students often take courses in the departments of Mathematics, Biometry & Statistics, Engineering, Theoretical & Applied Mechanics, Operations Research, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, Computer Science, Natural Resources, Economics and Physics. Research in this field is often a collaboration between several professors, Post Docs and graduate students within the above departments.
