2008-07-27 17:58:23   Dropped off my truck here to get the horn fixed, the amount of "research" they did was obscene, it took two trips and many hours at full repair price for a total of approximately $1,200 to get my horn fixed. On a previous trip I had them replace two of my tires, only 3 months later the tire was leaking heavily around the valve stem, they also forgot to put caps on the valve stems! There are much more efficient places to take your vehicle, I'll never go to a dealership ran shop ever again. —TravisO

2008-07-30 00:18:45   This didn't happen to me directly, but to my sister. She bought a 2002 minivan from them 3 years ago. Used of course, a former rental. OK..they TELL you with a certain time-frame for a warranty right? WRONG. The van was supposed to have been totally reconditioned before she bought it. She noticed less than 2 weeks after purchasing, that it had started to pull to the right while she was braking. She brought it right in, they asked her to leave it since they could not get right to it. THREE days later she finally goes back in, fed up that they had not even called. They tell her the mechanics looked at it and everything seemed FINE. No problems. OK. THE NEXT DAY the ABS light comes on, on the dash. She brings it BACK in THAT day and insists(quite firmly, but not rude) that something be done. They got VERY very rude and pissy towards her and told her AGAIN to leave the car with them (this was on a Friday).

Tuesday she gets a call that it's done, ready, every thing is fine. She picks it up and everything SEEMS fine for awhile. Then just a few DAYS before the warranty was to expire the rear brakes SEIZED completely as she was on her way back from a family vacation out-of-state. Having the van towed to a near-by garage for repairs. When they put the van up on the lift, what a SHOCK she got!! The entirety of the braking system was rusted, and shot, needing to be replaced. She was told she needed everything from calipers, to rotors, to master cylders, pads. A $1,400 repair bill. Also the exhaust was rusted out and needed to be replaced from the manifold on BACK. On a car she only had for 90 days and was supposed to be covered. They had to pay for the repairs so her and her family were not stranded out-of-state. Thinking that maguires would at least pay her back for PART of the repair bill. Again..WRONG. Not only did they refuse to recoup some of the repair bill, they told her that she passed the warranty deadline for having the exhaust replaced, after bringing it BACK in to SHOW them the condition of the undercarriage.

Oh she took them to court alright, and finally won her case last year. She since sold the lemon to some other poor soul. —Anonymous

2008-07-30 00:20:54   I have bought many vehicles from Maguires and it has been nothing short of perfect. We have always been promptly taken care of before, during, and after the sale. the salesperson even sends me x-mas cards every year, and calls me to wish me a happy b-day. you should all be ashamed of yourselves for bashing such a fine establishment. The service department has always been great to me also, giving me a loaner if I need one. Plus I always get a free carwash. The funny things your saying on here are the same things that i went through at those "other" dealers in Syracuse, Rochester, and BigFlatts. We should be shopping locally to help locally. That's why this town is such a hole, because you people wont get your head out of your bums long enough to see the great places we have here, instead you will drive 45 minutes in every other direction and spend your hard earned money in the other cities who don't do anything for us. I've spoken my piece. I hope that other people who enjoy the hard work that the McGuire's put in will speak their piece here as well. —Anonymous
