Bridgeport Community Centre, located at 20 Tyson Dr. in Kitchener, has been serving the Bridgeport and surrounding community since 1970, with renovations completed in December 2011.  Located next to the Grand River and the Walter Bean trail, the Bridgeport Community Centre is tucked away beside Tyson Park. 

Home to one of the largest community ice rinks in Kitchener, the Bridgeport Community Centre also features a multipurpose room and two meeting rooms, the centre is equipped to offer programs and activities for everyone to enjoy.

The Bridgeport Community Association designs, implements and maintains the regular programming at the Bridgeport Community Centre.  Programs include:

Summer Playgrounds

The City of Kitchener Summer Playgrounds program is delivered at 50+ sites offering games, songs, crafts, sports, special events and off-site trips open to children ages 3-12.  Playground leaders are trained in Standard First Aid and police screened.

Adventure 9:00-11:30am and 1:00-3:00pm

Community Outreach Program

The Community Outreach Program is a community-based program created to prevent and reduce the depth of child poverty in the Waterloo Region.

Their goal is to assist children and families to access services they need in their own community.

  • Linking families to community resources including:
  • Employment/Education - information and funds
  • Recreation - activities, fees, subsidies
  • Food - when you run short
  • Clothing - for your family
  • Child Care & Children's Needs - information and equipment
  • Counseling - for family or individual
  • Transportation - to attend appointments or meetings

Bridgeport Community Centre is also available for rent for meetings and special events, featuring a multipurpose room and two meeting rooms.

Partner Groups

The Bridgeport Community Centre is proud to partner with local organizations to provide programs and information to our community.  All programs and information sessions are free to attend and located at the Bridgeport Community Centre.

Community Support Connections - Wellness Active Living Club (WALC) offers weekly, fun and gentle fitness classes that are led by volunteer Seniors Fitness Instructors in locations throughout Waterloo Region.  Classes are held weekly and are one hour in length. 

Any senior who would like to improve their health and well being, but is unable to participate in other programs due to transportation, health or cost, is welcome.

Ontario Early Years Centre - Learning is Child's Play is a no cost drop in program for families with children from birth to six years of age in the Bridgeport community.  It provides an opportunity for child-directed learning through play.
