A nice mellow cafe in the middle of downtown.
Coffee is pretty good, one of the better iced coffees in town, a variety of espresso drinks (machine is the real deal), and 15 flavors of loose leaf teas. Friendly staff, they're all about getting the same consistent quality drink no matter what time of day or who serves it.
In the same block Queen Street Common, they're community minded. Art on the walls is sourced with the help of the Kitchener Waterloo Art Society.
Singer Sarah McLachlan came into the store once and there's picture by the cream and sweeteners.
Atmosphere
Lots of space with tables and cushy chairs up front. Windows let in natural light. An excellent chill vibe, you're encouraged to stick around. There's even a reading area--and if you don't have anything to read there are lots of books (a quick look found Carol Shields' "Larry's Party", "Selected Letters of James Thurber", "Madame Benoit Cooks At Home" and Timothy Findlay's "Head Hunters" as well as a decent selection of light reads and non-fiction.
