In May of 2019, Arnav Gupta set himself on fire in front of the White House, and despite efforts to put the fire out, he did not survive. He wore a USA shirt and although his motive is not definitively known, it is speculated that it was a political statement as part of a radical protest. This event is social as it is speculated he was using this act as a statement to society. The pain level is 10 because for him to commit such an act, the circumstances must have been incredibly powerful, and dying in the way he did is extremely painful to both him and those that witnessed the event.
