What do you know about Baltimores Heroin and Fentanyl Rise in overdoes?

Like many cities, Baltimore has had many economic consequences due to deindustrialization in recent years. About 1/4 of residents live below the federal poverty line. Because of this, drugs like heroin and fentanyl are very cheap. At a low of 76 heroin overdoes in 2011, that number climbed to 454 in 2016. With regards to fentanyl it jumped from 182 to 419 overdoes in 2016. A resident in Baltimore described how easy it was to access these drugs as "It's just like buying a pack of cigarettes. I posted this because in our course we have closely looked at how a poor economy can lead to more drug users, sellers, and overdoses. This is on a pain scale of 10 because many people have died as a result of these drugs.
