A study was conducted that was published in the JAMA Otolaryngology journal that looked at the increase in cellphone related face injuries. These injuries range from facial cuts, bruises to broken noses and fractures. They researchers observed that the increase in these injuries happen around 2006 when smart phones became popular. They have estimated that 76,000 people suffered from cellphone related injured from 1998 to 2017.
