What do you know about Mortality rate differences between urban and rural places?

In 1997 the American public health association conducted a study throughout the US to see the differences in health between urban and rural places. The age adjusted death rate among people aged 1 to 24 years old who lived in rural counties was 31% higher than those who lived in urban counties. As well for adults aged 25 to 64 in rural counties, death rates were 32% higher than those who lived in urban counties. Rural counties had higher death rates from unintentional injuries, suicide, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The highest of these rates come from residents who lived in the Mississippi River Delta. I chose this topic as a part of this course because we have learned a lot about the differences in available healthcare in rural and urban places in the US. Also after watching remote are medical I was able to see how desperately people in rural ares needed health care and that they have higher health risks. This is a pain scale of 10 because there needs to be more health care for these people in rural areas suffering.  #GEOG203 #bio #social                                              More of this information can be found at https://ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/full/10.2105/AJPH.94.10.1682
