Newark Police seek man, woman accused of organized retail theft

Police are asking for the public’s help locating two people accused of stealing copper from a Newark hardware store.

The theft happened just before 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Home Depot at Suburban Plaza, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department. An employee saw the thieves walk out of the store with large spools of insulated copper wire, Rubin said.
