What do you know about Pacific Trash Vortex?

The pacific trash vortex is a large patch of trash that is a little smaller than Texas and is floating in the middle of the Pacific ocean. It is the accumulation of many different kinds of trash pollution, but is mostly plastics which when they start to break down releases harmful chemicals in the water which can killing sea creatures. The plastics can also entangle sea creatures if it is big enough or choke them if it gets around their neck. What to do about this large trash vortex is very hard to decide on since not one nation alone caused it and no nations have stepped up to start cleaning it themselves. This links in to our talks about state sovereignty since the ocean doesn't belong to anyone and therefore no one can be held accountable for it. This trash vortex is also a big deal to many people because it is killing sea animals which not only causes the animals pain, but it also causes humans to feel grief over not being able to do anything to help them. Both of these relate to our module on biological pain because it is biologically killing fish and this could be biologically hurting us mentally or physically as a byproduct of eating marine creatures. This connects to the biological module as I already explained and it is a rating of 10/10 because if it continues it could cause serious damage to the planet and pain for everything on it.
