Norristown Area school district is a fairly disadvantaged school district with 3/4 of its student body of disadvantaged families. The school district is raising taxes in hopes of gaining revenue. Superintendent Christopher Dormer does not believe that raising taxes will generate enough, in comparison with wealthier neighboring districts. This disparity disadvantages already poor populations in the Norristown area, lowering lowering quality of education.
