What do you know about Redlining?

Redlining is the  practice of fencing off areas where banks would avoid investments based on community demographics. The results of this were areas in communities that were "hazardous" and run-down while other parts of the community were rich and industrialized. The effects of this in certain areas from over 50 years ago still remain today. In Macon, Georgia, these considered "hazardous" neighborhoods are inhabited by the minorities. These neighborhoods continue to remain low to moderate income and underdeveloped. Whereas the predominantly white neighborhoods are high income.
