There has been a rise in religious violence and tensions between global religious communities. Tensions and actions across the globe are at an all time high. Hostilities against Muslims and Jews increased across Europe, as did threats against Hindus in more than 18 countries. This article states that, "According to Pew, in 2018 more than a quarter of the world's countries experienced a high incidence of hostilities motivated by religious hatred, mob violence related to religion, terrorism, and harassment of women for violating religious codes." (Muggah, 2019). Differences in religion are causing tensions in global societies.
