As the Thanksgiving break is coming to an end I am finding myself extremely stressed out. I am getting nervous about finals and feel as though I am burnt out. Over the break I worked 39 hours over the course of 3 days and had every other day planned out with things that I had to do. I then realized toward the end of the week, how much work I have to do for school and the jam packed week I have ahead of me. I feel exhausted and still have to pack and gather all my things. One of the hardest parts is also saying goodbye to my dear loving family. At the end of the semester I think the best way to describe this feeling is burnt out. I will feel this the whole drive back to school. I found a source that describes burnout as "a pathological syndrome with three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and loss of sense of personal achievement (8)" (Chang, Eddins-Folensbee, Coverdale). This is the exact way I feel and it is extremely prevalent in college student, especially medical students. The pain that I am feeling is about a 4 since its psychological.
