Roton Islands (also Rowaton as early as 1681, as well as Roaton, Rhoaton, Rheoton, and Rhoton ) is the historical name of the various upland areas at Bailey Beach, Roton Point, Pine Point and Bell Island. The name dates back at least as early as 1687. 1
