Art Cars are otherwise standard cars, trucks and vans that people have decorated with paint, beads, tiles, clothing, etc. They become rolling artworks, while likely reducing their resale value significantly.

The cars shown were all photographed in Oakland, but it's not clear how many are native and which were visitors. Berkeley has a number of art cars, too, including one that was covered in tiles to make a beautiful mosaic. You could see lots of them at the "How Berkeley Can You Be?" festival/parade when that was running.

Help Make An Art Car! On December 12, 2015 from 2-4pm, you can help artist Jenna Forder a plain car into a crazy art car, as part of Temescal's Made @ Your Library series.
