David Gans (born October 29, 1953) is a musician, songwriter and music journalist. He is co-author of Playing in the Band: An Oral and Visual Portrait of the Grateful Dead and host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Grateful Dead Hour.

Gans was born in Los Angeles, but currently lives in Oakland.
