David Pierce Barstow (1827-1882) was on the City Council in 1864, 1865, 1866 and 1867.

Barstow was an early resident of Oakland. He was born in New Hampshire and graduated from Dartmouth College. Barstow came to California in 1849 during the goldrush and moved to San Francisco to practice law. Barstow lived on a ranch on Market street between 18th and Adeline. Like many early citizens he was involved in horticulture, and also owned "unimproved" land on 22nd street. He was married to Elizabeth Reed.

The Barstow Tract is named after DP Barstow.2
