MLK Day of Service at the Gardens at Lake Merritt and Lakeside Park
On Monday, January 20, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, more than 500 volunteers – many associated with nonprofit organizations, universities and community groups – are expected to participate in the MLK Day of Service at the Gardens at Lake Merritt and Lakeside Park.
The Public Works Agency (PWA) hopes to introduce these volunteers to it ongoing volunteer opportunities. The PWA Stewardship Team also sees this event as a team-building opportunity for staff to work together in the field.
