The Oakland Parks & Recreation Foundation has the goal of "providing financial and volunteer resources, and advocacy for recreation programs and parks in Oakland." It was formed in 2015 by the merger of the Friends of Oakland Parks and Recreation and the Oakland Parks Coalition. 1
