Ready, Set, Connect! is made available thanks to a partnership between the Oakland Public Library and Community Technology Network. It’s a workforce development program designed to provide local youth with technology-based job skills through a balanced combination of classroom training and hands-on work experience. In the program’s training phase, which began in March, 2013 youth received mentoring from employees of technology companies and were taught professional etiquette and cultural sensitivity.
Community Technology Network’s Ready, Set, Connect! program is a 2012 Dell Powering the Possible grant recipient.
