Thanksgiving Luncheon Social – On Saturday, November 23 from Noon to 2:00 p.m., the Willie Keyes Recreation Center, located at 3131 Union Street, will host a Thanksgiving Luncheon Social. The event will include free food, entertainment, singing, spoken word and/or praise dance.

It’s Turkey Day at Melrose – Tuesday, November 26, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Melrose Branch Library, 4805 Foothill Boulevard. Kids, come celebrate Thanksgiving by creating a decorative turkey. ILWU 10 Thanksgiving Basket & Turkey Giveaway- November 23, 2013, Healthy Oakland, 2580 San Pablo Ave 10:00am. ILWU Local 10 invites low income families who reside in West Oakland and are in need of an unprepared turkey & trimmings for Thanksgiving dinner. The giveaway is limited to one turkey per household. An Eastlake Thanksgiving: An International Lunch! Thanksgiving Day at Noon: A community Thanksgiving meal where Tribe Church cooks will provide juicy smoked turkeys and spiral hams. This gathering will have an international feel to it with various dishes from Korea, China, Vietnam, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, South Africa, etc. available to taste! There will be family friendly inter-active games (parachute, tug-war, board games) and talent sharing. Optional: bring your favorite side or cultural dish to share (not required for attendance!).
