Thornton House is a Queen Anne Victorian in Preservation Park built in 1887 or 1888.
It was built for Thomas A. Thornton and his wife Julia P. Thornton. Not much is known about the Thorntons, except his profession was listed as "capitalist" (the c.1980 walking tour files say "carpenter", but I think that might be a different Thomas Thornton)
According to city files, before 1884, the Thorntons lived at 841 Linden Street; before 1881, at 962 Clay Street.
