Founded in 1987, the Urban Strategies Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to community building through advocacy and support. Programs focus on building capacity through strategic partnerships and coalition-building with aligned organizations, as well as identifying, understanding, and plans for addressing issues such as the foreclosure crisis, unemployment, the criminal justice system, youth reentry, community policing, and education in underserved populations. Additionally, Urban Strategies emphasizes research and development around open data and increasing access to public data in the communities they serve.
