WestOaklandWorks.com is a commerce-oriented website funded by the City of Oakland Office of Economic & Workforce Development and the West Oakland Commerce Association to promote and educate the public, business community, outside investors and interested in-coming businesses about the dynamic and rich entrepreneurism that is occuring in West Oakland.  The site informs present businesses about conditions, resources, and promotes business growth and local hiring, tells compelling narratives about local business achievements and successes, and encourages local business-to-business or business-to-consumer sales through the Business Directory.  Announcements about pertinent meetings and events, and outcomes of the West Oakland Business Alert committee and its adopted "Nine Barriers to Economic Development" improvement campaign are all listed on the site, as well as cultural news.
