1956 ad
McNeill's Men's Shop was a men's clothing store at 3279 Lakeshore Avenue, run by Arthur C. Marks.
The store was in business from at least 1948 to 1957, and possibly as late at the 1960s.
The store suffered smoke and water damage in a 1954 fire that destroyed Oscar's. Insurance companies paid Marks $10,012 for damaged merchandise and furniture. 2
Arthur Charles Marks died in 1965. 1 [ It isn't yet proven this was the same Arthur C. Marks, but there weren't others in the phone book at the time, and the d. 1965 Marks was listed as a clothing salesman in the 1940 census. ]
