The Powhatan Zinc and Lead Mining Company incorporated in June 1906. The company was capitalized at $100,000. Incorporators included Thomas C. Peters, B,J. Campbell, and S.M. Neely, president.1

The original name of the company was to be The Powhatan Lead Company.1a

In 1912, the mines were described as being midway between Black Rock and Powhatan. 1b

The company later changed its name in 1915 to Consolidated Zinc and Rock Company.2
