Located on the southeast corner of Pace and Blount Streets, the Dr. Hubert Benbury Haywood House embodies the distinctive early twentieth-century Prairie style of architecture developed by Frank Lloyd Wright and characterized by horizontal lines, minimal detailing, low-pitched roofs, wide overhangs, large porches, and earth-toned building materials. This house, and the Caveness House on Hillsborough Street, are the only two examples of this style of architecture in Raleigh. Dr. Hubert Benbury Haywood, an accomplished physician, practiced in Raleigh for nearly fifty years. Private residence.
