The Journey of the Electric Car Kick-Off Celebration (Electric Vehicle Kickoff) occurred on January 28, 2012 at North Hills Mall as an event to increase local public awareness of modern electric vehicle options and the future of electric transportation. Speakers included Jeff Barghout (Director of Electric Transportation at Advanced Energy), Jon Williams (Director of the NC State Energy Office), Russ Stephenson(Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Raleigh), Bonner Gaylord (General Manager at North Hills), and Mac Kendall (Associate Director for EHS & Sustainability at BioGen Idec).
