The Raleigh Flea Market started from very humble beginnings in 1971. The Stewart family founded the market at the Historic State Fairgrounds with a handful of vendors selling from just six tables. However, this flea market has grown into one of the most popular shopping landmarks in the Triangle and draws over two million visitors annually, according to the Triangle Business Journal.

To accommodate the tens of thousands of shoppers that visit every weekend, six buildings and several acres of the fairgrounds campus house nearly 1000 vendors. Visitors are also free to bring their pets along to the outdoor and indoor stalls.

The Raleigh Flea Market is open on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except in October, when it is closed for the North Carolina State Fair to use the fairgrounds.

Visitors receive free parking and free admission. The flea market is also open rain or shine.

Shoppers can find furniture, food, drinks, art, bicycles, video games and so much more. There is also a Facebook page where shoppers can get an inside scoop on the best finds from previous visitors.
