Triangle ArtWorks is a nonprofit organization developed to connect creative communities and artists within the Triangle region through its mission "to provide the services, support and resources necessary to cultivate and ensure a vibrant creative community".  Creation of the organization filled a need for a cohesive organization to promote the Triangle's strong regional arts and design community, facilitate collaboration, and spark innovation within the Triangle arts community.

The organization's website, launched in August 2010, includes an arts directory listing art schools, support organizations, museums, galleries, festivals, venues, collectives and guilds across diverse art disciplines.  Artists can access information about available area resources ranging from advocacy, to health care, to legal information for starting a for-profit business.  The ArtsWork Blog features current arts projects, triangle area creative news, and action alerts, informing the public of pertinent and relevant topics impacting the Triangle arts community.

In July 2011, the organization's Board of Directors formed three Working Groups, each charged with implementing Triangle ArtWorks strategic plan:  Creative Support, Outreach/Marketing, and Development.

Presently (March 2012), Triangle ArtWorks is forming a networking group to connect "young arts administrators" in the region who will meet periodically.  The Triangle Emerging Arts Leaders Group's membership is anticipated to be comprised of arts administrators 35 years of age or younger, or those who have less than five years experience, with the goal of discussing issues specific to art organizations, as well as facilitating a collaborative environment for arts leaders to engage with each other.
