I live in the Youngsville area, but spend most of my time in Wake Forest, where my wife works and my children go to school. I have been writing fiction, creative-nonfiction, and marketing materials for that past 20+ years. I received as B.A. in English from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, after which I was commissioned and served four years as an officer and paratrooper in the U.S. Army. While in school I had the pleasure of learning from Wilma Dykeman and in 2007 had the opportunity to work with Barry Hannah, both of which greatly influenced my writing. The next year, I was awarded a Durham Arts Council Emerging Artist Grant for Literature. I have also received recognition for my work as a writer from the Tennessee Writers Alliance.
