Symphonic Choir with the North Carolina SymphonyThe Concert Singers of Cary (CSC) is a volunteer choral organization that provides a professional experience for musicians and audiences alike.  It is unique in the repertoire it performs, the collaborations it promotes, the learning opportunities available to its members, and the opportunities provided for the entire family.

Repitoire

Our repertoire is unmatched in depth and breadth.  We have performed works such as William Grant Still’s And They Lynched Him on a Tree, Einhorn’s Voices of Light/The Passion of Joan of Arc and Ariel Ramirez’s Navidad Nuestra, as well as classical oratorio, Baroque with period instruments, and traditional Broadway favorites.

CSC regularly collaborates with other organizations.  We’ve recently produced or are planning synergistic programs with Triangle Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle, Raleigh Symphony Orchestra, the East Carolina Early Music Ensemble, and The Cary Ballet Company. The incorporation of vocal artists into these productions enables the presentation of more atypical or unusual performances neither partner can achieve on its own.

Education

CSC provides unique learning opportunities for its members.  For example, the incorporation of professional singers allows our members to receive vocal leadership at each rehearsal and voice teaching in sectional rehearsals In addition, a weekly newsletter teaches members background information about current pieces and composers.

CSC supports two youth choirs.  Children can join the youth choirs and parents can join our adult choirs.  Multiple generations have the opportunity to perform together periodically.   In addition, children can progress from our Cary Children’s Concert Choir to Cary Youth Chorale into the Concert Singers of Cary.
