Located in the Sierra Nevada’s, only about 30 minute drive from Reno, this mountain is not only a scenic place to visit in the summer, but even more spectacular in the winter. At an elevation of 8,911 ft, Mt. Rose is the tallest and most visible landmark from the city.

Summer Activities:

In the Summer there are many activities to enjoy, such as driving along the highway or hiking on the many trails that surround Mt. Rose. At the summit there is a very popular trail that is fun for both families and their pets.

Winter Activities:

In the winter, driving the Mt. Rose highway that is covered in snow is very scenic, but there are other options as well. Mt. Rose Ski Resort is about 20 minutes away from downtown Reno and is a place for skiers/snowboarders of all levels. Tubing is another activity for families to enjoy.
