Patty Martin, Peggy Conklin, and Nancy Ecker's sons were all members of the U.S. Army when the Twin Towers fell after the 9/11 attacks. Together, these three moms founded their own support group and became an official chapter of The Blue Star Mothers of America.

The Blue Star Moms is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support for active duty service personnel, assist veteran's organizations, and support causes that benefit military personnel.
