Calvine High School serves students in grades 9 -12, with emphasis on credit-deficient 11th and 12th graders. Students have the opportunity to attend either morning or afternoon sessions in academic classes meeting for 55 minutes Monday through Friday. In addition, all students are assigned to an Advisory Class.

Calvine High School is one of three fully accredited continuation schools in the Elk Grove Unified School District. Established in 1991 as a new school, Calvine High School was outgrowth of the former Omochumnes High and Pioneer High, established in 1974 and 1981 respectively. This school is unique in that it is one of the few alternative schools that was specifically designed as a continuation program.
