Run to Feed the Hungry is an annual event for the families of Sacramento area, taking place every Thanksgiving morning. The event raises money they directly benefits the Sacramento Food Bank and families in need.

Online registration for the event is open until the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at 11:59pm, although there is registration available on the day of the event. Adults are $35 (preregistered) or $40 on the day of, and children 15 & under are $20. After registering (be it preregistration online or by mail, or on the day of the event), participants get a free shirt for Run to Feed the Hungry that changes every year.

Run to Feed the Hungry has a team fundraising program, which allows for the creation of corporate, school, or group teams. These teams fundraise to benefit Sacramento Food Bank. Teams receive special T-shirts along with VIP treatment (VIP parking, tent area, professional team photo, and pre-race media opportunities).

Run to Feed the Hungry knows that not everyone can participate on the day of the event, so they have a donation page on their website. Multiple donation options are offered, from text donations to sponsoring and donating to a specific participant. These donations are then used to purchase items for individuals in need.

Volunteering

Every year, hundreds of volunteers are need to make Run to Feed the Hungry possible. Volunteers are needed anywhere from handing out T-shirts at REI Sacramento for those who pre-registered, to water stations along the course of the run.
