St. John's Shelter Program for Women and Children is a local non-profit shelter.

The goal of St. John's Shelter Program is to support homeless women and children to advance from a point of crisis to a position of self-sufficiency. Through the use of various programs, St. John's Shelter Program makes an investment to try to teach women and children how to be independent and positive contributors to our community.

St. John's Shelter has supported more than 25,000 displaced homeless women and children since it was founded in 1985. Today, the shelter offers 24-hour comprehensive services and a 90-day program to homeless women and children. The shelter provides all the tools necessary to improve the lives of these women and children in order to make them independent and productive citizens. When the participants join the program, they begin their journey at the shelter by developing the vision of how to break the obstacle of dependence. The next step toward recovery is at Plates Cafe, where the participants learn job training skills. Lastly, participants end their journey at Greenway Village, where they are provided with housing to help them reach their goal of self-sustainability.
