The Women's Refuge is a shelter available year-round only to single women, and is operated by the Sacramento Area Emergency Shelter. It provides temporary emergency shelter, meals and transportation. Housing is limited to 30 days. It is available to women saving for permanent housing. Funds are maintained to house disabled women.
It also provides:
- Case management
- Assistance in locating permanent housing and jobs
- Information and referral
- Workshops in coping skills and money management for residents
- Drug and alcohol counseling
