The first phase of construction of The Farm park, includes watershed area rehabilitation, parking area, and 12 community gardening plots, There is a disc golf practice area at this developing park, which is open from sunrise to sunset.
This was the former location of The Farm bakery, gift & flower shop, and the Greenhouse Restaurant.
The Santa Cruz County Redevelopment Agency and the Parks Department hosted a series of community meetings to come up with a Master Plan for the park. This included a two-story community center, 3/4 miles of meandering pathways, a skate feature, 1/2 basketball court, children's play structures, a bocci ball court, nature interpretive signage, a pedestrian bridge, an enclosed dog area, community and heritage gardens, oak woodland habitat restoration, turf and picnic areas, landscaping, a restroom, and parking areas.

Construction of the park and community center is currently not scheduled to begin yet, because of budget cuts. Once construction starts, completion would take just over a year to complete.
