The SeattleWiki style guide is here to help.

Not to dictate every minute action you take on the site, but to be a cool bud that gives pertinent advice when you need it most.

Writing style:

Adventure among the edit pages of this wiki. Write with humor, with your own voice. This isn't some dry Wikipedia entry. No way.

Tell anecdotes, relate the experiences you've had in Seattle.

Layout:

If you're unsure how to organize the layout of an article, refer to the page templates. Each template should contain clear instructions that explain the type of content needed and how to organize the page.

Citation:

If you're citing something that's on-line, just link to the source.  If it's not online just make sure it is clear what book/whatever your citing with where in the book/whatever it is. Feel free to use MLA or ALA citation rules if you're a nerd.

Notes: Big thanks to DentonWiki, another LocalWiki project. Our style guide takes considerable inspiration from their style guide and the comments that people left on it. Particularly the idea of the wiki being part guidebook, part encyclopedia.
